What a great question, and after days of thought, I'm not sure I have an answer for a specific "mystery" in my own life being the makings of a plot. That being said, All His Pretty Girls, the first book in the Alyssa Wyatt series stemmed from a moment when I took my vehicle in for maintenance, and a man came and sat right next to me in a very open waiting area. His conversation was friendly but a bit odd, and from there, my writer brain went to work, and a serial killer was born.

Hi Diane! Yes, this is a series. While each book could probably be read as a standalone, it might help you better understand the characters or certain references if you read them in the following order: All His Pretty Girls, The Toybox, and then Alone in the Woods.
