Mark Piesing I am working on the proposal for my second book. Watch this space!
Mark Piesing While keeping your eye on the long term goal of writing your book and getting it published, think about what you can do in the short term to make this more likely: visit the locations you are writing about which you can mention in an introduction or book proposal, start posting about books on Twitter, Instagram, or YouTube to impress an agent or publisher, blog on your own website or Medium about the themes in the book, or even pitch stories to the local, regional and national media. Publishers rely on authors to publicize their own books, and all these kinds of activities will help show a publisher that you are willing and able to do this.
Mark Piesing Depends on how serious it is, and at what stage it occurs: move on to another part of the manuscript, walk the dog, go to the pub with mates, or even fly to the Arctic circle to get inspiration!
