Andy Littleton The Little Man was framed around my dad's two favorite books. The first was Little Britches by Ralph Moody. Little Britches is a story about Charles Moody's influence on his son through the story of the family's difficult but exciting life on a ranch. The second was Walk Across America by Peter Jenkins. Jenkins discovered often overlooked people and places through his journey. Both of these books were beloved by many. Both of these books were too "simple" and poorly written for literary critics. I decided to blend the concepts and write a book in simple language that my dad would have liked as a way to honor him and the lessons he taught me.
Andy Littleton The simple answer is that I used to love writing when I was young and let life get in the way. When my dad died I needed to process it all and writing was the way I knew I needed to do it. That led to writing The Little Man.
Andy Littleton Currently I'm trying to keep the "writing muscle" in shape by writing short stories about my interactions with interesting people who aren't in the spotlight. I am also in the early stages of a project on being bi-vocational.
