'Better than the movies' was like a dream come true. This book had no business being this cute and adorable but you create the most swoon-worthy and believable characters so, honestly books don't get BETTER than this. Was this cute-as-a-button novel fun to write? I can't wait to read the do-over. P.S. Everyone in my vicinity knows this is my favourite book of all time.

Lynn Painter My next YA - Betting on You - comes out in November, and I read and loved the YA Something More by Jackie Khalilieh but it doesn't come out until May/June.

Lynn Painter Haha - I just saw this, and someone added it for me, so yes!! :) And it is VERY possible that Accidentally Amy will become a book...more to follow!

What gave you the idea for Better Than The Movies and characters like Wes and Liz? Are they based on real people?

Lynn Painter They are not based on real people; I honestly don't remember where they came from. Fever dream, maybe? ;) I really wanted to write a romcom that FELT like a movie romcom, which inspired me to throw in all the tried-and-true cliche tropes.

Lynn Painter Ahhhhh - thank you so much!!!!!!! I was inspired to write a book that FELT like all the old rom-coms that we know and love, the fun, filled-with-cringe-but-it'll-all-be-good-at-the-end type of stories.

Lynn Painter I will always love fake dating AND enemies-to-lovers; I feel like the reason WHY I love both of them is very similar. It's the whole "seeing them in a new light" vibe - it gets me every time.

Better Than The Movies was like so beautiful, that I just can't. I know this question is probably going to be hard to answer, but what is your favorite romance trope, and which books do you think have executed them the best?

Lynn Painter It isn't just hard, it's impossible! ;) I loooove fake dating, and The Love Hypothesis was just my favorite fake dating book of last year so that is totally up there. I also loved Counting Down with You.

I'm also a sucker for enemies-to-lovers, only-one-bed, friends-to-lovers, he-hates-everyone-but-her.....

I'm fickle - I love them all!

Lynn Painter Ohmigosh - thank you SO MUCH!!!! I, like Liz, have always LOVED watching rom-coms, and I wanted to write a book that had that same happy, hopeful vibe.
