Well, all over the place really. All my books are assemblages or compilations of everything I'm thinking about at the moment. But The Strange Bride does have (some of) its roots in the story of Niall of the Nine Hostages and, more generally, stories of the "loathly lady". Part of the inspiration for The Gad Nail came from a postage stamp once issued by the Isle of Man. And a bit of Howl of the Lambergoon came about after I saw a picture of someone posing with a dead elephant's trunk. All true.

Right, now, I'm finishing up Book 3, The Strange Bride, which means I'm sedning out review copies, begging for reviews, and tweaking the text. At the same time, Nicolas Guido Lavalle and I are working on Book 4's illustrations.
