I have found that I never did experience "writer's block" as described by others. For me it was a matter of motivation to actually sit down and write, and make the time. Over the year it had taken me to write the novel, my father passed away after a brief illness. For a long time, the desire to sit down and write was the last thing on my mind. That part I found very difficult, and I lost my focus. Time does not heal all wounds, but time does make things more bearable.

For myself I have found that the whole process to be a great way to engage my imagination, while learning.

I actually find it hard to consider myself as a writer ... despite publishing a novel. However, the advice I would give to anyone (at any daunting task) is to persevere. Set small goals, and they eventually turn into a finished product. I have heard people say that they would love to write, but they have no time. Spend just five to ten minutes a day and write a few sentences down, or a paragraph. By the end of a week, you will have a chapter done! Small steps towards a larger goal.

I have three project on the go right now. A fantasy novel, a horror and Book 2, of Serve in the Shadows: Training. I have decided to fully concentrate on book two, in the series.

I have been an avid reader most of my life, and after a certain point the same stories tend to be a little stale. I was recovering from shoulder surgery a few years ago, and after reading a novel my first thoughts were, "This was brutal, I could probably write a better novel!" And with that, I started and kept the project going.

I have always enjoyed the military and CIA Clandestine Services genre of novels, and I wished to try my version. I added the supernatural aspect to the story line in order to not only make it interesting to read, but to stand apart from the others.
