Faiz Yusuf I think interesting situations, things happen to you that move you and real emotions you experience inspire me to write what I write.
Faiz Yusuf I have been working on this book called "Midnight Sun". It's primarily a collection of poetry but how I'd like to define it is as a "journal of emotions". It's one of the most personal and coherent piece of work I have ever made, and I am honestly very stoked about this coming out in the world and seeing people's reactions to it.
Faiz Yusuf My only advice would be to be to genuine with your writing. You need to be unique and be very open to trying out different things in your approach.
Faiz Yusuf I think writing helps you to process pain and different emotions and that's the best upside to it. You can turn experiences and emotions into art and that's literally the best outcome. The good part about being an author, on the other hand, would be to always have ears when you want to say something. You may want to write for yourself but I have always wanted it to be for the people and be more about sharing instances and experiences. As an author, I get to do that.
Faiz Yusuf I experience life. Most of my writings are inspired from real-life events, so I just take a break from writing when I feel like I don't, necessarily, have something substantial to say and I just spend a few days just going out with my friends and practically, live a life. At the end, I always end up with something I need to write about then.
Faiz Yusuf I have been writing "Midnight Sun" for the last three years. I was repeatedly told that poetry doesn't sell and honestly, that was a little demotivating. However, it was later I had this epiphany that if I do this right, no matter what the genre it pertains to, it is going to do well. Since I always believed that autobiographical poetry is something I do best, I kept writing about the paradoxical mannerisms of the world and came up with this concept of the book.
