I am not sure that I have ever experienced it but when I hit a "dry" spell it's because I've written myself into a corner, i.e. an impossible or highly improbable situation and cannot think of a reasonable solution, in which case I simply change my plot or direction, even if it means a rewrite. I do not dwell on hopeless situations solved by unreal solutions.

The idea came from my years of veterinary practice involving dogs and their owners and families and my finding that most of these relationships endured and blossomed even though neither party could communicate with the other.
As I matured with my practice and endured more than a half century of these observations, I realized what I thought to be an explanation for the way dogs behaved and that people could benefit exponentially if they were made aware of this and explained how to use this info in order to make their relationship with a dog more predictable and pleasant ... ergo, The Little Book of Dog.
