It's rumored that my grandmother came into the possession of a very rare, expensive stamp. Before the internet, she helped families in Europe locate relatives that immigrated to Ontario, Canada, and once, as a thank you a woman from England mailed her a bag of stamps. Apparently, my grandmother sold the stamp and invested the money. When she was alive she would never confirm or deny the story.
