I'm currently working on a YA mystery/thriller about Columbus, a paranoid schizophrenic girl whose family doesn't understand her. Encouraged by her best friend, Misty, the pair of teens run away from home and flee to Paris to follow in the footsteps of the heroines of their favourite French novel. The adventure that was meant to change their lives turns into a nightmare when Columbus learns that her friend is harboring a dark secret. Can Columbus get to the bottom of the mystery she's gotten herself into before it's too late?

Set a schedule or goal, something easy like 300 words a day, and stick to it. Don't get stuck into editing until you have finished your first draft.

With self-discipline. If you don't know what to write, write the first thing that comes to mind until a plan forms itself. If you don't know where your plot is going, come up with something insane and figure out how to make it work later.
