Quite frankly, I enjoy the solitude of writing and getting lost in the story-maze. I suppose there is a lot more but this is what comes to mind at the moment.

I take walks or short day trips (e.g., to the beach) and that will often clear the cobwebs from my brain. I also search the internet for anything of interest (at the time) and then see where that leads me. Sometimes new ideas are born from this type of exploration.
