Marc D. Hasbrouck Actually, A mystery that had me puzzled for several years was worked into the plot of my book "Down With The Sun"...a novel in three acts. In Act Three, Sooner Or Later, in that book, my main character Baxter Janus makes a startling discovery. It affects his boring retirement and changes his life. I'll say no more, but that incident was based upon a discovery that I made about my own past.
Marc D. Hasbrouck A nice gin and tonic usually helps. ;-)
Marc D. Hasbrouck The freedom to explore the possibilities! To explore my mind...to stretch my imagination. And, sometimes, to unleash the demons within.
Marc D. Hasbrouck Don't be afraid...just do it. As an art director several years ago (and as one of my characters tells another in my book) I told a young designer just beginning in the profession: "Why whisper when you can shout?"
Marc D. Hasbrouck I haven't considered writing a sequel to "Horse Scents" although a few folks have suggested it. Time will tell.
Marc D. Hasbrouck It comes very naturally to me. I also love to talk. (I was a group Leader for WeightWatchers for 16 years and an actor in a local community theater for one, wonderful production). Friends who have read my book say that it seems just like I was talking to them. I write the same way I speak.
Marc D. Hasbrouck I have been part of the graphic design and horse-owner worlds for decades. I have encountered wonderful "characters" throughout my career. My wife used to be a competitive rider in small (very small) local horse shows. I have used and embellished familiar scenarios.
