R.A. Lewis The best thing? I get to write the books I want to read. I get to live a million different lives. I get to let my imagination run wild daily, and that is truly a privilege.
R.A. Lewis Since I'm fairly new on the scene, the best advice I can give is to be kind to yourself. There is a VERY steep learning curve in this business, so don't expect to learn everything overnight. Also, KEEP WRITING!
R.A. Lewis Honestly, full writer's block, where you can't write, isn't really a thing. There is always something to write. And if I'm feeling uninspired and the words are just not flowing, the best way out is to write yourself out of it. Keep writing, even if the words will be deleted later.
R.A. Lewis I am currently working on a few projects. I am writing the third installment of a series of short stories about a sell sword named Garin. The first installment is free to anyone but the rest are only available to those on my mailing list.

I'm also working on the second and third books in my new fantasy series that I plan to release later this year. The Valdir Chronicles are about an orphan girl who discovers she is part of a prophecy. She sets out to understand her fate and find her people and along the way she discovers she's not the ordinary orphan she thought she was. Book one will release sometime in May, 2019.
R.A. Lewis Oh man. Ideas literally come to me multiple times a day. I write them all down, but only some will be fully imagined. Whenever I'm at a loss for what to write, or have writer's block, I scroll through my ideas until one catches my eye and sparks a scene. Sometimes I also scroll through Pinterest and find images or writing prompts that also spark something in me.
R.A. Lewis The idea for Secrets & Swords came to me sometime in high school (many, many moons ago). It took years for me to get the courage to finally write it. I used a few of my favorite fantasy tropes and then found myself addressing sexual assault and PTSD. I have a degree in Psychology and another in Sociology so those are issues near and dear to my heart.
