I've (finally) completed a picture book called The Sky Is Everywhere that was inspired from a conversation with my children when they were toddlers. If you read Both Sides Now, you'll understand the context. In spite of resistance by mainstream publishers to tackle loss, I hope that the book finds a good home. Death is a part of life, and loss, however broadly it is defined, is as universal as the sky. My agent is working on it right now!

Don't worry about imposing structure before you've written a good amount if not the entire book. Let the story dictate the form.
