C.K. Ruppelt I have much more on my mind than I have time to write down. I have had no such experience as writer's block yet, maybe I'll deal with it some day, hopefully never!
C.K. Ruppelt Time slows down when you are in the zone. That alone was an epiphany that keeps me going.
C.K. Ruppelt Go for it, don't be upset about having to learn the craft and redoing things from scratch, especially when you don't just want to trash the first work to go with something else. I knew the story I wanted to tell and was not ready to give up on it despite my horrible manuscript. After some eight or so revisions during my initial learning period it still has more rough sections then I like, but I think I'm growing enough that I will revisit From Darkness at some point to do a 2nd edition.
C.K. Ruppelt Into Dawn, the second volume of the Republic's End series is taking shape, though a bit slower than I hoped for. I also have plenty of notes jotted down for a project I call "Ancient Terror", about terror that didn't stay in the past - that's all I'm going to say for now!
C.K. Ruppelt I always wanted to write, though I had a negative experience with some misguided harsh critique when I was 13 and never got around to starting again until I was laid off in 2017. I figured it's now or never, and I certainly have the bug now and don't want to stop again (ever).
C.K. Ruppelt When re-reading De Bello Gallico (Commentary about the Gallic Wars) by Julius Caesar back in 2005 something in me clicked when it became clear that there where a lot of people tied up with his legions from all over the Mediterranean. That sparked wanting to tell the stories of normal people of the time, though of course they are all still wrapped up in the history the powerful leaders made happen.
