I am currently working on a trilogy about dragons. The books are set in a land where the King is trying to eradicate dragons. The main character, Nywin is trying to stop the dragon hunt and save her kind.

If I am struggling with a scene, I will write out in point form what should happen during the scene. It becomes easier to imagine the flow of the scene. I also find it helps to imagine the scene like watching a movie.
If that doesn't work, I will admit a truce with the writer's block. Rather than becoming frustrated, I will go for a walk and give my creative side a break.

I love when my characters surprise me even. I think a scene will go a certain way, but as I write it evolves into something different. It is how I know the story is taking on a life of its own.

My writing sessions usually start with some great music being cranked up. There also might be some silly dancing before I settle down to write. Once the writing starts, I usually switch to some music without lyrics to keep the creative juices flowing.
