L.D. Markham There are little things all around me that I observe, or I'll get an idea from a news report and go from there. Finding the time to do it though, is another story.
L.D. Markham Stick to it. Get the ideas and dialogue on paper. If you're on a roll and everything seems to be working for you, don't interrupt the creative process. That's what editings for. And, it will take several edits. Don't be afraid to cut a chapter or a scene that doesn't move the story forward.
L.D. Markham I don't really worry about it. My head sometimes needs a break from writing because I can tell my brain is thinking about changing something or questioning the logistics of something. So sometimes, If I can't write, I need to read, or watch related movies or T.V. Sometimes a sentence I hear or read will all of a sudden help me solve a problem.
L.D. Markham I'm at the beginning stages of an amateur sleuth story that I would like to make into a series. I'm still in character development and trying to make the logistics seem believable. I've already adjusted my outline 3 times.
L.D. Markham I took a trip to Costa Rica in 2013. I was looking for a murder mystery that took place there, and could not find a fiction mystery. So I decided I would write one.

Shortly after we returned home, a real murder occurred related to my storyline, so I based the structure of my story on that event.
