Don't give up...if you are serious about wanting to write, practice writing a good solid book proposal. I would highly recommend getting a literary agent. They have contacts in the publishing world, can find you writing opportunities and negotiate better pay for your work.

I think the coolest thing is seeing your first book in print. Its also really great when people tell you how much your book helped them on the subject they were interested in.

I take a break, play with my dogs and unwind. Inspiration can hit when you least expect it...typically when you are choosing to not think about what you are writing.
