R.D. Murray This is very hard to write, but when I was in the 3rd grade I was bullied so badly I wanted to kill myself. All because I was shy, quiet and awkward. I was thrown in the boy’s bathroom by these 3 particular kids who would punch and kick me as hard as they could. I could barely walk as everyday they would abuse me over, and over again. The other kids in school would just laugh at me and no one helped. In fact, those same kids who watched and knew about my abuse would just join in, tease me, and they even threw food at me during lunch. My mom came to school so much to fight for me, but it didn’t help. I had just about given up living in this world. Somehow God saved me and I found writing. It was an outlet to take me away from the pain I was going through in this world. I wanted to create different characters, and a different world just to escape. Writing really saved my life. Now at 42 I just released my first novel. My Dead Blue Caterpillar. I have to say I still am a bit shy so this is hard for me to ask but any support for my book would be very helpful. It’s very inexpensive and a good read. I want to thank you deeply from the bottom of my heart.

I'm glad it's over. I remember hearing about a man who was asked his favorite Bible verse and he answered, "And it came to pass." The questioner waited for the rest of the verse and was told that was it. "It came to pass." The man was just so glad that some terrible experience was behind him. R.D. Murray It came to pass. That is a beautiful and deep passage. It is so true. At the time I suffered greatly. I am so thankful I survived that time. I will definitely let you know when I write the memoir. Thanks so much Margaret

I read your proposed author intro in the Support for Indie Authors group. Thank you for your courage in trying to post it. Do you see ways in which your past strongly influences your writing today? Also, you say, "Somehow God saved me." Is that something that you can see being incorporated in your writing? Please don't feel you have to answer these questions. I'm not trying to be invasive, just hoping to understand.
R.D. Murray Thank you so much, I feel like if it wasn’t for my pass I wouldn’t be writing today because as I was going through my abuse I just wanted to get away. I didn’t know how to, so I started writing about things to take me away to other worlds. I believe God placed writing there to save me. I also want to write a memoir later on about how I got here maybe titled From Bullied to Author.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
R.D. Murray I just wanted to write something different. That is always my goal.

How do you get inspired to write?
R.D. Murray I used to get bullied pretty badly in public school. In order for me to get away I wrote. It was a way for me to escape this world and create my own world.

R.D. Murray The continuation to my debut novel. My Dead Red Butterfly.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
R.D. Murray If you are writing because you love writing you can never fail. So never give up. As a writer fail is one word that you should never use.

R.D. Murray You can make the characters do whatever you want.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
R.D. Murray I actually write as much as I can in my head before I sit down to write. So that I have a based to work with. This way it’s hard to get writers block.
