Seasons of War: Gallifrey was a basic concept handed to Paul and me to flesh out. When we had our character archetypes, we worked from there, and the story formed around them. Honestly, I only knew our soldier had to also be a poet. Once th characters were set, the story started to kick in.

Finishing off book 3 of Owl's Flower before sending it along to Ginger for pictures. I've also got a lot of other irons in the fire: assembling an anthology, working on several short stories, and a book or two! Never not busy.

Go to social gatherings. Hang out with people and observe them. Anyone in a storytelling field benefits from interacting with people as much as possible. It gives you a "library" of ideas to work from.

I go to YouTube and load up a Vine compilation, then try to match each Vine to one or more characters in my current project. It helps me step outside the confines of the story and think more laterally.
