I'm currently finishing off a book of short stories in the crime / horror area and I'm in the planning stages of a second book involving some of my characters from One Night Only.

When you get an idea you like, mull it over for a suitable interval, then start writing. For me the mulling is important - that stage can last years. Oh, and read "On Writing" by Stephen King - his advice is way better than mine.
