Justin Bamforth I used to experience this whenever I found myself writing about things that I had no genuine interest in. The writer's block vanished when I started to take on projects that I was more emotionally vested in. So, maybe take it as a sign that you could need a temporary break from the assignment (or a permanent break). If you must finish the project, give yourself a moment to recharge. Walk away from the project and do something else unrelated to writing. You'd be surprised at how something insightful can sneak up on you in the moments when you least expect it.
