Have you tried reading this: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
Short stories I believe are easier to get into for a reader. World building is minimal and characterization is to the point, it stays on pure merit of strength of story. If you can't get into this, then the author is not for you. :)

Thanks for letting know Eric, I was reading about it the other day. My next book is expected around December time frame. Working on subsequent drafts. :)

I would go with B) Mind-blowing plot twists. Precisely because very strong characters are surreal. Everyone has his black and white moments. Everyone changes over time and holds different viewpoints at different points in their lives. Yes, there are some strong characters in real life but, very strong characters are actually not the norm but an exception. Epic settings may suit some stories, such as when you are describing a religious despot or an armada of spaceships. But those setting may not be relevant if you writing about a poor shepherd staying in a village. But plot twists, they are eternal, if woven well, everyone loves them.

Hello Amita. While I try my best to apply my knowledge of Physics and Mathematics in creating the science fiction stories, I admit it's not hard science fiction, with complete theories and razor-sharp details you may expect. The idea behind parallel universes is very simple, if I as a writer can think of a story, my belief is that while it may be a fiction in our universe, it may actually be happening in another universe. My brain has set up some kind of a link with that universe and is reading some incidents happening there. When you read those stories you will find a sense of realism in them which indicates that they are happening in universes not very different from ours. If you are looking for enjoyable new ideas on science fiction and fantasy then this book is for you. But if you are looking for very hard theory based Sci-Fi with zero speculative elements, then this may not be the right one.

I like his story "The Dead Past" the most. Because it's a very simple tale of science fiction with a very strong twist at the very end. When Asimov defines the meaning of viewing the past. The threshold of time is something which reader does not think about during the whole story but it's right there staring at your face towards the end.

Currently thinking about my next book, an idea from Indian mythology, amalgamated with time travel. I have the ideas in my mind, just need to entwine them into words and sentences.

Don't think too much. Just write, keep on refining it. Read it multiple times. And in the end, you will have a much better product. There are some writers who prefer to write in a single flow. Perhaps this works for them. For me, it has to be multiple iterations.

It helps you stay sane, it helps you create something, bring a new entity into the world. It allows you to take people along on journeys you yourself have already taken inside your mind.

Read a lot, observe a lot around you. Mr. K. V. Vijayendra Prasad (father of S.S. Rajamouli), said the same in an interview. He gave two hit films Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Bahubali as a writer. He said as a story-teller we are often inspired by others, some small incidents can inspire us to weave a powerful tale.
