E.M. Jaye I switch gears for a bit. Either write a new scene, work on another book's outline, revise the current outline, or even maybe write some blog posts.
E.M. Jaye Writing. Plain and simple. I love the world-building and problem solving you get to control as an author. It is my world, I make the rules and the stories. You argue with your characters and struggle through their struggles. I just love it.
E.M. Jaye Just do it. A little bit a night, or on a lunch break. If you find peace by writing, do it. Shoot for 500 words a day. If you write 500 words consistently a day, in just a few months you have the first draft of a novel. But, don't do it for the money or hoping to become famous. Do it because it calls to you. Do it because it makes you happy.
E.M. Jaye A comfy chair, a glass of tea, and time. There are some days that writing is just not going to happen, and often my slowest writing times are during the outlining stages. I always write an outline, but there is always more in the book than what the outline says. Once I have the outline finally hashed out, I just start writing based on the plan, and then the story begins to flow through me and onto the page.
E.M. Jaye I am currently working on Book One in the Gelder Warrior's series. This book is a spin-off from my True Immortal series. It will be a series filled with stand-alone novels based on supporting characters in the first series. I found motivation by the desire to give these characters the happiness and closure they deserved.
