My most recent book, "Impending Love and Promise" came from an incident when I was child and accidentally let go of the glass storm door and my father put his hand through it and cut an artery. I was so upset, I thought he hated me. I take the main character through a similar falling out and on a journey to mend her relationship with her father.

Inspiration comes from many things. Usually it is from a something I've read in the paper or hear about on the news and wonder, what if?
As a reporter, I have to stick to the facts when writing a story, but a fiction story allows me to ask questions not only of myself but of the reader.

I take a walk or go on a bike ride. Ideas will begin to tumble in my mind and often a solution to a tricky part in a book will occur.
