The mysteries in my life remain hidden for a very good reason. Such is my life and such is the character of Katarina in my books, Katarina's Dark Shadow and Katarina's Dark Journey. War creates tragic circumstances where the unthinkable happens. Throughout history, women have felt powerless against the patriarchy. But through creative manipulation and aligning with women-led networks, they've not only survived but also overcome their injuries.
Violence against women has plagued society forever. Historically, women have buried the pain because the legal and religious systems continue to penalize us for coming forward.
We must heal ourselves by joining with other victims. It's time we started acting like overcomers and stop carrying the pain. We got hurt and our identities were stolen. But the bullies still laugh. That's just plain wrong. It's time to rise, take up our swords, and repossess the land that is rightfully ours.
Churches have long contributed to this "blaming the victim" ideology and it's also time they stepped into their God-ordered role of healing the injured. Support the fight.

Never stare at a blank page. Write something down—anything. Find a phrase in a book, a bible verse or a inspirational saying and write about what that means to you. If I'm really stuck I'll take a walk to a nearby wooded area and just walk with nature. I need silence both to think and to write. Schedules stress me out.

Writing is an escape that takes me away from the problems of real life. It also inspires me to be a better person.

Write everything you know about the subject you've chosen. Do a brain dump on paper. Don't research while you write. Do some research before, but add the details of your research later. You will do more research when you polish your draft. You don't know it all, but you know enough to write a book.

I sit at my computer and write anything. I think as I type. I don't think about what I'm writing, I just allow the thoughts to flow and I write them down as quickly as possible.

Everything I write is based on lessons learned from personal life experiences.
