Robbins The idea for "Paradise Lost, Paradise Regained: The True Meaning of Democracy"goes back to a book I read many years ago in which the author suggests that the reader create his own form of government, something original, that has never before been tried. This was a radical and intimidating assignment. Yet I followed through, designed my own form of democracy and have been living with this imaginary government ever since. It was the "inspiration" -- there it is -- for "Paradise Lost…"
Arthur D. Robbins I don't write from inspiration. Most of what I write is from choice. Though, the short story I will soon finishe was "inspired" by the fact that my air conditioner died.

Arthur D. Robbins If you want to write, you should write. Don't look for encouragement or acceptance from those around you. Many people are threatened by those who are engaged in a creative endeavor. Writing -- good writing -- is a solitary undertaking. Be prepared to be on your own, to be separate from the herd.
Arthur D. Robbins Writing is empowering. It re-enforces ones identity. It keeps one growing and searching. It keeps one connected to the world.
Arthur D. Robbins I am fortunate, I don't suffer from writer's block. I think the secret is not in writing but in emotional self-honesty. When people are blocked it is probably because they have not resolved a critical issue from their past. Facing the truth is liberating.
