I will literally sit with a notepad in front of me, and if nothing comes to mind, I write "nothing is coming to me" or something like that, until I make what I write in that notepad into a story of its own.

I get inspired by things I hear in the news, or while watching TV, and instead of following the story that's happening there, I wonder "what if" it happened another way. I also just watch life around me.
