This is always a tough question for me since I love all of my characters! LOL. But to answer your question, my favorite characters are usually the ones I'm currently writing. They are freshest in my mind and therefore I feel a close connection to them as I dig deeper into their story and what makes them tick.

Sometimes I watch a movie or read a book (something new or an old favorite). Those activities are usually a great start to get my juices flowing.

One of the best things about being a writer, for me, is watching the characters I envision come alive on the page. They mess up, hurt, grow, learn to love and feel hope(ful) again. Their struggle gets me started, but their hope pushes me across the finish line. And then I get to share all of that with readers at the end. It's a great and terrifying feeling all at once!

The idea for the novella I'm working on now came when I was watching the end of a movie. There was this very passionate poem being recited and it just triggered an idea in my brain. I just ran with it!

I read a lot. Watch my favorite movies or television. It gets my mind off of the block and then I'm free to be inspired by something else.

I'm currently working on a standalone new adult novella. I'm really excited about it! Also on my plate is a romantic suspense story I've been working on for a while now. I hop around from project to project more often than not!
