When another patient was treated with the same therapy that cured Tom, we both knew that our story was "bigger than us." It's estimated that 10 million people could die each year from multi-drug resistant bacterial infections by 2050 unless urgent action is taken. Our story is about my fight to make sure that Tom didn't become one of those statistics. We were inspired to write this book to become part of the solution to the global superbug crisis.
