C.A. Lear My novel is based on one of my short stories. The idea stemmed from a shortage of Gothic horror stories concerning vampires. In recent years, hipster vampires were made to fall in love with teenagers and have babies. I wanted to paint a darker shade of vampire in a classical setting. It took a lot of research to accomplish this, but I’m happy with the result.
C.A. Lear My inspiration to write comes from several places. I'm fortunate to have a few followers that like my work and ask for more. I also have a solid support network in my peers and family. There's also the artist in me and that burning desire to put down what I'm imagining up. And it’s always inspiring to receive a favorable review.
C.A. Lear I deal with writer's block by consulting the mustache... or by writing through it on a different project, editing, reading for inspiration, or bouncing ideas of my amazingly patient and supportive wife. I always have at least two writing projects to change up. A long walk helps, and I need the exercise.
C.A. Lear I'm currently working on a collection of short stories. One of the stories inspired me to write The Hover.
