R.B. Thurman Seeing my book in print was going to be my answer, but actually, it's been seeing everyone's reaction to it. It's surprising how many people have wanted my book, just because they met me. I'm nobody special! But, that enthusiasm is very infectious.
R.B. Thurman Writing is not a race. Obviously, you want to finish a given work, but give yourself a chance to do so. There are times a matter can consume our time for this, but there are also times it doesn't and we simply take it away from our writing. There is time. Give yourself a chance to finish, even if it means borrowing from other less important things.
R.B. Thurman Mostly time. Thinking, rethinking, questioning what was written prior. Then, seeing if there is a better alternative, or a small adjustment that can allow the story to move forward.

When I had this, another thing that helped (though, I wouldn’t recommend), was simply starting over. I started again, without reading the original, and wrote what I thought the story would be. When I later compared the new start with the existing book, the variations actually fixed the block, and the story restarted in a better direction.

R.B. Thurman I like to write. I can't say that I started with something inspiring me to write; in fact this novel was more at the behest of my eager reader friends. But, the thrill they received from reading it, and seeing their excitement for each little excerpt (when I started writing, I wrote VERY SLOWLY) became my inspiration to continue.
R.B. Thurman It is based on a short story a wrote a very long time ago, while still in school. The story premise was encapsulated in that short story, but the 'story' that is the novel came from others reading the short story and wanting more. As I worked up the novel, others showed interest, and I realized I probably should see this through.
