Corinna Hasofferett In my book "Once She Was a Child" poet Karen Alkalay Gut relates beautifully to this question, from the mouth of an Yddish poet - an immigrant guest in her parents house. That's what he said to the teenage Karen: "write only if you cannot sleep at night if you do not write."
Corinna Hasofferett If writer's block is when you do not write with pen or computer - I beg to differ. One writes even when asleep. I call it 'alternative writing'.
The best location is not my bed and pillow but my garden. Gardening not only cleanses my mind but especially brings to mind new writing solutions and ideas. Myself, I swear by fruits and vegetables, herbs and the blue sky. Have you noticed how the basilicum leans toward the eggplants, almost hugging them?
