I always feel inspired to write when I'm reading a good book or sitting in a busy coffee shop. My recipe for a successful writing week often involves a lot of coffee, a little dancing, and the occasional yoga class. Oh, and snacks. Lots of writing snacks are key to keeping the inspiration going.

The frigid floor made my feet prickle as I stumbled across the dark room. I opened the creaky cupboard door and let out a piercing scream when I saw we were out of coffee!

I won't lie, working in your pajamas is pretty fantastic. Though I have to admit it can be a little awkward when someone comes to the door at 2pm and you're wearing a Spiderman onesie. But hey, I like to give people something to talk about. I also really enjoy spending time imagining what could happen next in my stories.

If I ever feel stuck, I make a list of 10, 20, 30 things. The list can contain characters, objects, things that could happen, anything that comes to mind really. Then I pick a couple things from the list and use them as a starting point for the next chapter. I once wrote "loses a sock" on a list, and it inspired a whole series of events. You never know where inspiration will come from.
