A.G. Mayes I always feel inspired to write when I'm reading a good book or sitting in a busy coffee shop. My recipe for a successful writing week often involves a lot of coffee, a little dancing, and the occasional yoga class. Oh, and snacks. Lots of writing snacks are key to keeping the inspiration going.
A.G. Mayes The frigid floor made my feet prickle as I stumbled across the dark room. I opened the creaky cupboard door and let out a piercing scream when I saw we were out of coffee!
A.G. Mayes I won't lie, working in your pajamas is pretty fantastic. Though I have to admit it can be a little awkward when someone comes to the door at 2pm and you're wearing a Spiderman onesie. But hey, I like to give people something to talk about. I also really enjoy spending time imagining what could happen next in my stories.
A.G. Mayes If I ever feel stuck, I make a list of 10, 20, 30 things. The list can contain characters, objects, things that could happen, anything that comes to mind really. Then I pick a couple things from the list and use them as a starting point for the next chapter. I once wrote "loses a sock" on a list, and it inspired a whole series of events. You never know where inspiration will come from.
A.G. Mayes I'm currently working on the third book in the Slice of Magic series. It will be available early summer!
