Meiling Colorado Author's block can be a blessing in disguise at times. I find I get stuck when I try to push my characters too hard, in a direction they do not want to go, with only a plot objective in mind and no creative impulse. When this happens I usually work on another part, deepening character background and development, and coming back to the issue from a fresh new angle.

Meiling Colorado I really enjoyed working on the groundwork for some characters, especially Leiren and Ren. What he goes through is not easy, and it lays the foundation for further development in the sequel. As for actual moments, I found writing the scene where they find Michael at the back of his house strangely satisfying. I am not sure what that says of me, hahaha!
Meiling Colorado The second part of Aftermath. Those characters can be such bullies, they keep knocking on my brain at odd hours of the night, and just will not let me be!
Meiling Colorado For me, it is the freedom it gives me to explore the deepest recesses of my inner landscape, places I was unaware existed. I have always thought stories string us together as a species, and the stories I find hiding in those dark, hidden corners help to make me understand my fellow man and woman that much better.
