I have never really seen a non-German author tackle a spy story concerning the German security services. I don't why that is. Maybe a legacy of the Nazi Gestapo era? Nobody wants to perhaps write about a strong German security service abducting terrorists, shooting people, etc. But I saw a niche there, and since I have lived here for 17 years, I know about the country.
