Marti Booker I always have more ideas than I do time to write them down!
Marti Booker Everyone always says "Just write," like it's some easy thing. The best advice I can give, and the advice I wish I'd listened to decades earlier, is that you cannot just get by on inspiration alone. Set those writing goals and put your bottom in your chair and your fingers on the keyboard. Even if it feels like you're going to die of mental anguish, get a minimum number of words on the page. You honestly won't be able to tell afterwards which parts you wrote in a bliss and which parts felt like agony!
Marti Booker About twenty years ago, I began to have a recurrent dream about a dragon, an ocean, and a young girl. And while neither that particular dragon or that girl appear in Book 1, Dragon Venom, you do catch a small glimpse of the farthest shore of that ocean. Book 2 will bring the story around to that young girl and what happens to her.
Marti Booker I currently have three projects in development: a memoir about my childhood, a YA novel based on a play, and, of course, Book 2 of my series about dragons, A Poison in the Blood.
