I used to wait for inspiration to strike, but the more I've written and the more I've grown as a writer, I find I don't necessarily "need" inspiration. Yes, we all get great ideas now and then, but I am of the mind that if one is serious about one's craft, inspiration can be created by imagination, introspection, and tenacity. Keep reading, keep writing - I know you've heard it a million times, but it's true. You'll never get any better if you don't work on the craft. Jane Yolen's "BIC" rule - Butt In Chair - is the best advice I can share!

The easy answer is...comfortable clothing is not just a perk, it's a necessity! The more relaxed and comfortable I am, the easier it is to write. But the other answer - which is very true - is that my career brings smiles, thoughts, and enjoyment to people, which is not something everyone can say about their particular field. I feel truly fortunate to be able to do what I do.
