Rita Delude My life doesn't have much mystery, but some of my family members have some zigzag directions they've taken, so I do use their experiences in my writing. I'm not a mystery writer. I write suspense, horror, contemporary, paranormal, YA, and historical romance.
Rita Delude I'd travel to the world of Gone with the Wind, free Pa's slaves before the war, love Rhett as he loved me, and be his partner for life, working for all people's rights to vote, including suffrage for women. In other words, using the power of the purse that Scarlett and Rhett had, I'd use it to advance rights, change minds, and perhaps avoid the massive loss of lives of the Civil War. Ha Ha, such lofty goals. But, I've been in love with Rhett Butler since I was thirteen and with Scarlett's feistiness, I believe the two of them could get things done.
Rita Delude Finding enough time to write is my biggest issue. I'm also an editor, so that pulls time away from my writing time.
Rita Delude She knew he was there, but because of the blackness in the house, she couldn't tell where he was. Tracy held tightly to the only weapon she had, a small pocket knife, and stilled her breathing as she listened to sounds of him coming closer to her hiding place in the pantry.
Rita Delude This summer I'm reading Lockdown by Rena Marin.
Drumroll for Dallas by Erin Lee.
Civil Warriors by Tracy Bell
Mexico Calling by Erin Lee
and many others.
Rita Delude I write past it. I always have several books in the works, so if I'm not inspired to work on one, I work on another. I write every day, seven days a week.
Rita Delude The ability to be so creative and the response from readers, who are so supportive!
Rita Delude Make time to read the genres you want to write.
Write every day even when you don't want to or you'll eventually have permanent writer's block.
Rita Delude Driven by Desire, a paranormal, dark romance about a woman and an old colonial home under reconstruction. It's part of the Possessed by Passion collection that will feature twenty-plus full novels by USA Today and International Bestselling authors. Don't miss it.
Rita Delude I've always written since I was very young. I've been a newspaper reporter, a magazine writer, and a college professor who taught writing. But I never had time to write fiction, which I love, until I retired.
Rita Delude My most recent book is Lollipop Lure https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083XX3PBY/ref, now on sale in paperback. It's a YA book and the sequel to my YA romance, Bubble Gum Love http://mybook.to/BubbleGumCI. I got the idea from a girl I know who was abused by a family member. I wanted all those who have had such an experience to know there can be a good life after such a tragedy.
Bubble Gum Love was about bullying. Several of my four kids were bullied in school, so I know that topic well.
Both books are also sweet romances and standalones.
