Cecelia Hopkins-Drewer Well I used to dream about Narnia in the time of the four kings. Of course, I would marry King Peter or King Edmund. Then I would get my heart broken when they came back to earth via the lamp post!
A lot of other worlds are cool - Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time world - or George R.R. Martin's Westeros.... but with all the death and betrayal happening I wouldn't really like to be there.
Cecelia Hopkins-Drewer What an exciting question! I want to catch up with some works by emerging authors. DEADLANDS vampire story by Raven Corrin Carluck. NOMYCHA by the same author also sounds fascinating. I am a bit of a sucker for a colourful cover, not something washed out or blurred over. I might hunt up a few Zombie books as well. Rachel Aukes' DEADLANDS zombie series sounds interesting, with its connection to "Dante's Paradise Lost".
Cecelia Hopkins-Drewer You dealt with it well Helene. I didn't want to embarrass you but I had the feeling the answer would be fascinating. It also shows that I am massively stuck in my Western culture not to have thought about "traditional" marriage as opposed to civil. One would assume, however, that the law ought to acknowledge Indigenous marriage. If that has been the way of doing things for hundreds of years and they have their own ways of formalising such unions. The implications for women's rights and well-being would be a whole different subject.
Cecelia Hopkins-Drewer Last night I dreamed of a cat with a steel jaw that could bite through anything. I was assigned as it's handler, and luckily it liked me, because if it ever became angry I would be losing a hand.
Cecelia Hopkins-Drewer SPECIAL PICTURES TO TALK ABOUT developed from my work in Kindergartens with children experiencing speech delay. It contains a selection of clear and engaging pictures taken over the space of two years. Preschooler's eyesight is not fully developed, so each image has to be just right - and then was accompanied by leveled questions according to Marion Blank's theory.
Cecelia Hopkins-Drewer Keep writing - NEVER accept defeat.
Cecelia Hopkins-Drewer When my own stories contains surprises for me! As my characters develop, they take on a life of their own and writing is something like watching daily installments of a serial. My strength tends to be social situational comedy, which often develops in this way.
Cecelia Hopkins-Drewer Lol. I play computer games. There is nothing like a good old gaming session to get the creative juices flowing. If that doesn't work - sleep on it or go for a walk!
