My biggest inspiration is my 8-year-old son Jackson and my 19-year-old son Alex. Both of them had to overcome so much to be here today. They take on challenges head-on and never give up. How could I not put in at least half the effort that they have to achieve my dream?

I wouldn't write anything else until I felt inspired to do so. I knew God wanted this book to project certain ideas and emotions, so I left it up to Him to go forward when He wanted me to. Usually, I would have an aha moment, a dream or someone would say something that would lead me in the right direction.

Write. Grab a pen and notebook, or open a document on your computer and start writing. That was the best advice I was given and the best thing that someone could have told me to do.

This book is based on true life events. After the accident, it seemed everywhere I went people would tell me that I needed to write a book about our story. Eventually, I finally got the hint that this was the direction God wanted me take! It sure did take a lot of nudging though!
