Jo Jakeman I'm going to regret saying this, aren't I? I never get writer's block. I'm pretty disciplined with my writing so whether I'm in the mood or not, I'm at my desk each morning. Some days the words come slower than others, but they always come. Also, I'm under no illusions that all the words I'm writing will make the final cut so I don't feel the pressure to make it perfect.
Jo Jakeman Everything has been delayed thanks to COVID and my editor being furloughed. But, once the children go back to school, I can start on my edits for Who Killed Oscar Lomas. This one starts with the suicide of Oscar Lomas. He leaves a note, has financial problems, and his affair has been uncovered... on the face of it, it's straight forward. However, his wife Beth doesn't believe it and sets about trying to find out who wanted him dead. Just because Oscar had every reason to kill himself, it doesn't mean he wasn't murdered.
Jo Jakeman It feels like summer is starting to wrap up here so I guess I'm a bit late to this question! I've only just got into reading again after a few months of a slump. So far this summer I've enjoyed Eight Detectives by Alex Pavesi, Three Hours by Rosamund Lupton, and The Girls are All So Nice Here by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn. This last one isn't out until next year but I think people are going to love it. It's one of the perks of being an author - getting your hands on juicy books before they are released. Currently reading The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires - which has to be the best book title of the year. I couldn't resist it!
