I would travel west with the 1804 Lewis and Clark expedition party, from the beginning of their spring journey as the Corps of Discovery, crossing the Mississippi River to start up the Missouri west on a 2-year exploration into the newly acquired and Louisiana Territory. I'd help out on the boat, explore the land,, and meet and learn from the many indigenous people the Corps met along the way.

A veteran spiritual guide, adventurer, and solitary finally settles down to pasture on a beautiful three-acre plot on a creek, in the rolling woods and farmland of Southwest Michigan. Its perfect. It's simple, quiet, and sacred.
Suddenly, there's a knock at his door. His wife answers it. It's their three-year-old grandson, all alone. He has a bag of clothing, a small plastic laundry basket with some toys in it, and he needs a bath.
Where's the boy's mother? She can't be found. His father? Abandoned him at birth. What's happened now? No one really knows. And there's no one else to care for the boy.
What will they do?
