Arjay Lewis Hey there! Digger, as all my stories, was the coming together of several things. The first was a story I read about a retiring gravedigger who still dug graves by hand, and he talked about his techniques and the situations he'd encountered. I also saw a story about a journalist, who took months to track down a man he wanted to interview. Couple this with my own love of New Orleans and my experiences there in the 70s and 80s. It all came together to push me to my horror tale, and I hope everyone enjoys the results.
Arjay Lewis Dear Ludwig;
Thanks so much for getting in touch. I always want to correct any errors in any of books, pages, etc. However, I am having a Heck of time find the page you are referencing. At first I worried it was in the book, but it seems to be page. I tried my website and then FB, but no luck. Could you let me know where you saw this? Many thanks!
Arjay Lewis I'm glad you enjoyed it! The second book, SEDUCTION IN THE MIND is out and available at Amazon and on kindle. The third book, REUNION IN THE MIND will be released on November 20, and will also be a box set of the first three books. Currently there are SIX finished manuscripts and another trilogy will be released next year.
Arjay Lewis I am currently working on the fifth book in the Doctor Leonard Wise DEVOTION IN THE MIND. The 2nd- SEDUCTION IN THE MIND is out in September and the 3rd - REUNION IN THE MIND will be out at Thanksgiving.
Arjay Lewis In June of 1999, out of the blue I had the desire to write a horror tale called The Dark. I had never written horror before and the idea of a night guard who saw things in the dark—that were actually there— was a leap for me. (That story eventually sold to H.P. Lovecraft Magazine of Horror.)
It wasn’t until the next day, when I read the news that Stephen King had been hit by a truck in Maine that I had the oddest feeling, and I thought to myself, “It was as if something needed that story to be written and since he couldn’t, it moved to me.” This, of course, was the height of ego. Mr. King is an amazing wordsmith and teller of tall tales, and far more adept a writer than I. But the thought stuck with me and I wondered what it would be like if there was something— an actual physical entity that could help people write— and not just write, but write best sellers.
That concept became The Muse.
And of course, since it is a world unto itself, I could imagine a way that a famous writer in Maine could pass a story down to a beginner writer in New Jersey. I also upped the stakes, by having my famous writer change into a semi-human killing machine, so that the other writer would need to rise heroically to save himself and his family.
