Jean Baxter I'm not the kind of person who can say, okay, every day I'm going to write a thousand words or 500. I have to be in the mood, then the words just flow. Being in a writer's group helps. I hear what other people are doing and it encourages me to get back at it.
Jean Baxter You have to start somewhere, just put your thoughts down. Is there enough meat there to weave it into a story, or maybe something longer? Give it a try. It's never too late to start. Also look back at any nuggets you may have started a while back and see if you can build on one of them or incorporate it into something new.
Jean Baxter I am waiting to start the edits on my sequel to Salvageable, Unfathomable. It is due to come out in December, 2018. I am also in the process of polishing two other stand-alone young adult novels.
Jean Baxter Can write any where, any time. It's amazing to have this whole other world going on inside your head...a little scary, too.
Jean Baxter Give it a rest. Usually if I work on a different project, not writing, I am soon drawn back to the computer and get going again. Also, sometimes just skipping the area I am stuck on and moving forward on another piece of the book helps. Then eventually the part I was stuck on will be revisited.
