Well wouldn't you like to know ;) It isn't as if I left a few questions and plot twists unturned in the Alagana Trilogy. Someone has to write them down!

It would be selfish to say that I enjoy torturing the character's emotions when it comes down to it, but I do... Being a writer puts a characters life into play with the slightest touch of a keyboard. You have the power to create life and change the course of history if you deem fit. Dynasties can be documented, audiences can be moved to tears, and at the end of the day, it is the accomplishment of saying "I did it" that is the most rewarding of them all.
When a novel is begun, it seems as if it will never be finished, but each word is one step closer and it is the prospect of the finished product that drives me to continue no matter how tired of a certain character I am... That or you can just end them then and there. That is always a welcome option...

Dark chocolate, a pencil, and a long run.
Really, it works! If I'm having a rough day coming up with the right wording to a battle or the dialogue isn't flowing smoothly, I'll lace up, put my earbuds in and run it out of my system. Then, I'll sketch out a landscape or two, tweak the world map, and maybe draw a few of the character's portraits. As I sit back down to the keyboard, I will most certainly have a square of extra dark chocolate - 85% of course.

I am always in search of a classic fantasy - such as Tolkien and something that I can read on a beach - preferably a Jane Austen-esque genre.
At the moment I'm working my way through Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, and George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series.

Sometimes writing comes easily, where a day can be spent curled up in a ball for hours on end with a Spotify playlist of epic soundtracks humming in the background. Other days, a single right word is difficult to produce. Either way, I sit down to my computer with a purpose.
My inspiration may have come from a brief moment during the day or an emotion that has been tickling my mind. Stories pass by us everyday, but it is only those who notice that are able to become inspired.

When I was little, my friends and I would concoct fantastical tales of magik and danger where we were the characters and my backyard was the world. It wasn't hard to find inspiration because of the landscape of my valley and the endless adventures we embarked upon. During my freshman year of high school, I decided to start writing down the characters and plots until I had an entire novel to fill out.
