Most of the time, I go and do something else for a while. I don't want to let my mind get used to being frustrated when I am trying to write, lest I dig myself a rut that I can't get out of. So, I go and play a video game, watch a movie, take a walk, or chat with someone about my story. Most of the time, the latter is the most effective at breaking through whatever it is that's vexing me at the moment.
Most importantly, I don't beat myself up or let my inner critic tell me that I'm failing, because writer's block is a common, normal, and natural thing. The fountain of creativity doesn't flow all the time for every single person; it's like a river that needs rain to revive the flow.

Do not EVER let ANYONE tell you that you shouldn't write. I listened to far too many people while I was young that writing wasn't something that successful people did. Now that I am writing full time, I couldn't be happier.

Currently, I am working on taking the original ending of my second book, which was cut during my editing process, and turning it into a third complete novel in Elias's arc of the Dynasty of Storms saga. Once I finish with his trilogy, I'll start on the next character's books.

For me, storytelling is just a part of who I am. I tell stories of things I have done, things I have seen, and things I have imagined. After many failed attempts and lost manuscripts, after I turned thirty, I decided that there was no time to make it happen like the present. This story is a part of myself that I've kept inside for far too long. It's time to tell this story to the world!

My most recent novel is a continuation of my first book. I got the idea from stories I would tell about the main character Elias, while I was growing up. I created him as a character when I was about eight years old, and over the last twenty-four years, he and his family have evolved and changed into what they are now.
