Ruthy Ballard This summer, I'm focusing on books that inspire me to "get my work out there" and build the life of my dreams. I'm in the middle of Show your Work by Austin Kleon and You are a Badass, by Jen Sincero. I highly recommend both!
Ruthy Ballard Believe in yourself and the unique gift you have to offer to the world. Write from the heart and don't worry about pleasing someone else or meeting a standard you didn't set for yourself or doesn't feel authentic.
Ruthy Ballard Writer's block hasn't really been a problem for me. Sometimes I get stuck with a character. My approach is to leave the book for a while and work on something else. When I come back to the original work, I'm refreshed and have a new perspective.
Ruthy Ballard It's FUN, and I learn so much about myself through the writing. I love both the process of crafting stories and birthing the final product and sending it out into the world.
Ruthy Ballard Two children's books: Tales by Moons-Light: Stories from Before the Great Melt, Elvia and the Gift of Feeling Deeply. One book for adults: Drawing out DUppies: Cartoon to Delight and Inspire.
Ruthy Ballard The son of a dear childhood friend was my inspiration.
