C.P. Patrick I believe the first step is to claim/verify your book on Goodreads and then it will prompt you to set up your Goodreads Author account. If not, search Goodreads Author Program and you can also set it up that way. Good luck!
C.P. Patrick Hi there. I have found social media to be a very effective way to introduce my novel to a large audience. Facebook and Instagram work well. I have also worked with book reviewers/book bloggers who have shared the book with their audiences. I think the key is some form of marketing and promotion every single day. I hope you find this information helpful!
C.P. Patrick While researching WWI and WWII I came across a photograph of an African soldier - in one of the European armies. I started to do a little digging and I realized I had to tell his amazing story. Stay tuned! :-)
C.P. Patrick I get inspired by doing historical research. Reading about the past, especially what other endured and survived, inspires me to tell their stories. Also, if I am writing about a particular era or location, I may listen to music that is representative of that time. It helps set the mood - I'm listening to the same tunes as my characters!
C.P. Patrick I am currently working on a historical fiction love story. That's all I can say for now. Shhhhh!
C.P. Patrick Keep writing and don't give up! Even if you haven't worked on a project in months or years, it's never too late to pick up where you left off.
C.P. Patrick I love storytelling, especially stories that have never been told! Being a writer allows me to give voices to the past. As an author of African-American Historical Fiction, I get to re-visit rarely known facts and give them life. It's pretty powerful (an emotional at times).
C.P. Patrick I've learned that you cannot force writing. It only ends up frustrating you. Whenever I face writer's block I generally step away from the project - it could be for an hour or a day or two! Chocolate also helps with writer's block. :-)
