Hi Ed,
Good to hear from you! I am only beginning my publication and distribution journey. My novel is currently available on Kindle and other digital retailers, and a paperback version will be available soon. I still have a lot to learn about marketing and distribution, but will be amping up my efforts this year and would love to hear any helpful tips.

Writer's block plagues me most when I'm trying to write something that I don't really understand. I'm not great at dealing with it, but I've found a few strategies that work most of the time. If I'm stuck on a plot issue, I try to think through in detail what would really happen in a particular situation, and if I don't know, I go back to research. If it's a character issue, I pretend I'm interviewing my character and try to answer things from his/her perspective in his/her voice. If I just don't know how a scene should flow, I have to force myself to write and not care how bad it is. A bad draft can often get me through the fear of a blank page.🌞

Years ago, I read the Beale Papers, written in the 1800's, which told a tale of a treasure buried deep in the hills of Virginia, and hidden by three ciphers. I was fascinated that these ciphers have never been broken, and the treasure has never been found. Even more intriguing, many members of the National Security Agency and the CIA have tried--and failed--to crack these codes. Why, I wondered, would they care when they've ignored every other treasure story? Exploring that question led me to write a spy story based on this legendary treasure.
